Nice, relaxing, and enjoyable.

April 16, 2014,
First visit to Calistoga and I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is perfect for a getaway. Relax by the pool, enjoy a massage, or stroll the town. My room was recently renovated and simply beautiful, best part it had a kitchenette. Although I didn't use the kitchenette to cook, the refrigerator was nice to have for snacks and extra beverages. Tables with umbrellas and charcoal grills are available just outside the rooms should you want to BBQ or just take in the beautiful scenery. I took advantage of the spa and treated myself to a massage. The service was excellent and very professional. The mineral pools are open early and stay open into the evening. The pools are great for just relaxing and after a day of visiting the surrounding towns and wineries, made for a great night's sleep. The main street in town is a short walk and full of cute shops, restaurants, and a great coffee shop (Calistoga Roastery). Overall very happy with my stay at Calistoga Spa Hot Springs and I recommend it. I'll definitely be back. FYI - Request a room on the ground level near the pools. The pools are surrounded by a fence with access gates on each side.

Great way to relax at the end of a hectic vacation!

April 15, 2014,
A family trip to San Francisco included several days of travel and highly stimulating activities for all. Stopping over in Calistoga on our return to Oregon was a brilliant way to end our trip and the perfect way to unwind and have fun in one place. We loved having the kitchen and bedroom/living room suite and would definitely be coming back again.

Family Friendly and Fantastically Relaxing

April 14, 2014,
This is the second time we have come and stayed here with our two children. It is the best vacation ever. Our son doesn't stop talking about it all year. This time we got to enjoy the BBQ, all the pools and even begin teaching our son to swim in the perfectly warm "cold"pool. This place is comfortable, the beds are great, the kitchen has everything you need and perfectly located. Not to mention the fantastic pools. Can't wait to plan our next vacation!

Recent stay

April 14, 2014,
Have stayed many times for over 10 years.. Excellent as usual, except one problem. The large (lap) pool in the past has usually been 80 degrees. Now, it was much hotter--86 degrees-- which is much too hot for lap swimming ( I swim about an hour and a half, including speed laps) and frankly not safe (from my persective as a medical doctor). I swim year-round in an outdoor pool and am very familiar with th pros and cons of different temperatures. Suggest that winter temperature should be around 82 and no more than 83 degrees, and summer temperature 80 degrees. This would offer reasonable comfort for the large number of non-exertional pool users but also allow for much more comfortable and safer, from cardiovascular point of view, exercise swimming. Thanks! Giuseppi Slater, M.D.
