A History of the first Calistoga Harvest Table September 2014.
Calistoga Harvest Table was a magical evening!
Calistoga Harvest Table, September 7, 2014- There is something comforting about ‘family style' dining that takes us back to our roots of eating dinner at the family table when we were young and connecting deeper with the company we dine with. Thomas Keller knows all about the magic of this concept by creating an entire restaurant for this experience, Ad Hoc, which was meant to be temporary, but by the demand of the people became a permanent restaurant in Napa Valley.
Life is busy nowadays and it has become more challenging to dine all together at one time, at the same table. Now, imagine taking a family style dining experience to a whole new level of connection. That's what occurred Sunday, September 7th on Calistoga's Main Street. The first ever Calistoga Harvest Table with seven hundred seats at the longest harvest table stretching the length of Lincoln Avenue in the valley featuring seventeen of Calistoga's premier restaurants. Locals and visitors shared stories over exquisite cuisine and wine and met new friends and reconnected with old friends.
The menus were spectacular, with not a crumb left. Each restaurant was devoted to a certain number of seats, and each created a unique harvest design for their tables. The restaurants featured were: JoLe Restaurant, Barolo, Kopio, Napa Valley Crust by La Prima Pizza, Boskos, Brannan's Grill, The Calistoga Inn, Hydro Grill, Calistoga Kitchen, All Seasons, DiAmici, Café Sarafornia and St. Helena's Culinary Institute of America at Greystone.
There were eight bars featuring different wine lists and beers provided by local vintners and breweries making it an event truly inspired by the whole community. The featured wineries included: August Briggs, Barlow Vineyards, Bennett Lane Winery, Canard Vineyard, Castello di Amorosa, Chateau Montelena, Clos Pegase, Coquerel Family Estate Wines, Cuvaison, Dutch Henry, La Sirena, Envy Wines, The Grade Cellars/Winfield Vineyard, Hall Wines, Hindsight Wine, Homage Vineyard, Hostage, Jack Brooks, Jax Vineyards, Jericho Canyon Vineyard, Jones Family Vineyard, Kenefick Ranch Winery, Knighton Family Vineyards, Larkmead Vineyards, Laura Michael Wines/Zahtila Vineyards, Luvisi Vineyards, Madrigal Family Winery, Maldonado Vineyards, , Phifer Pavitt Winery, Romeo Vineyards and Cellar, Schramsberg, Six Sigma, Storybook, Mountain Vineyards, Summers Estate Winery, Tamber Bey, Tedeschi, Tofanelli, Tom Eddy Winery, T-Vine, Vermeil Wines/OnThEdge, V. Sattui Winery, Zacherle and Ziata Wines.
The buzz and chatter were electric with live music setting a nice backdrop for the laughter, clinking glasses for cheers, stories told, and memories made. It was truly magical and a great time with great food, great wine and fabulous company. Tickets are still available at Visit Calistoga
